Choose the books we buy - and access them anywhere

More books is running again from 23rd April to 13th May! Tell York which books you'd like them to buy no matter where you're based -  books are bought in eformat unless you specifically request print, so they're available to you in York, Hull, Scarborough, Grimsby, Scunthorpe....

Books, books lovely books: More books is back.

More books at York is back. Hurrah! Tell them which books you'd like them to buy between the 12th and 25th February this term. And remember, books are bought in eformat unless you specifically request print, so they're available to you in York, Hull, Scarborough, Grimsby....

More Books from the UoY  Library returns next week, and they want to hear from you! MoreBooks will be open for two weeks from Monday 15 May, during which time they'll collect your requests. Then select which ones to buy and get back to you with decisions to purchase.

So let us know about those books you think we should have but don't, or just let us know the books you want more copies of, and look out for a form on the UoY library website.

We aim to buy e-books through the scheme where possible, so even if you're based at Hull, dig out your York username and password and get requesting.

We’ll send out a link on Monday when More Books opens; but for the eager among you keep an eye out on Twitter @UoYLibrary or @HYMSLibrary and the catalogue at York from Monday.

More Books for HYMS Students at Hull and York: Read, Request, Repeat

Then select which ones to buy and get back to you with decisions to purchase.

So get thinking about those new titles you wish you had access to but were too afraid to ask, and look out for a form on the UoY library website.

MoreBooks Opens 1 June

The University of York is again giving students (and that includes all HYMS students) the opportunity to tell them what books to buy, whether it's a title the Library doesn't have or an additional copy of a book you’re finding it hard to get your hands on. We aim to buy e-books through the scheme where possible, so even if you're based at Hull, there's absolutely no reason not to make use of your York credentials and take part.

The scheme will close when all the money's used up.

A MoreBooks button (above) will appear on Wednesday 1 June alongside book titles in YorSearch and all you need to do is click it and enter your details in the form. To suggest an item that York doesn't currently have, go to the New titles through MoreBooks form. The Library will then purchase a copy of the book you want.

Last time we ran MoreBooks, more HYMS students offered suggestions than ever before, and we're looking forward to doing even more book-shopping this time around, so please let us know what you'd like to see on the shelves and e-shelves!
