Due to continuing bad weather the JB Morrell Library, Univeristy of York, will be closing at 9pm tonight (Tue 30th Nov). It is hoped to maintain a fully staffed service up to this time however.

Owing to continuing and forecasted bad weather the JB Morrell Library, University of York, will be closing at 9pm tonight (Mon 29th Nov). 6-9pm will be self service hours only.

Map of Medicine

Map of Medicine is now freely available at london.mapofmedicine.com. You can find this link on the Hull University Library catalogue and will need to register in addition to logging on using your Hull Athens username and password.



Map of Medicine enables web-based access to an evidence-based, practice-informed knowledge resource.



Using Map of Medicine it is possible to view more than 300 complete pathways that represent the ideal approach to care, as well as locally-adapted pathways. The Map works with multidisciplinary clinical stakeholders, including Royal Colleges and Clinical Societies, to create pathways that are continuously maintained to reflect the latest evidence, expert opinion and cognisant of policy information.

York Hospital Health Information Point and Library Annexe

This recently opened Library facility is at the front of the Hospital in the Magnolia Centre next to the Children's Centre.

The facility allows access to a number of services on the hospital site including:

-24 hour access to pcs in a dedicated study area
-Access to experienced library staff 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
-Access to 121 and group training on database training, information skills etc
-A selection of print journals
-A dedicated point to return library books
-A signposting service for patients to enable them to access published patient information
-A base for the Clinical Librarian Service.

JB Morrell Library, York, new IT room and printer

An additional IT Study Room (205) is now open on the 2nd floor of the JB Morrell Library. This is in addition to the existing 1st floor PC provision and the new IT Study Room 222. Room 205 is on the opposite side of the 2nd floor from Room 222; looking across to the Borthwick.

There is now also a printer available on the 2nd floor, just outside Room 222, as well as one on the ground floor.

Anatomy.TV

Primal Picture's Anatomy.TV is available to HYMS via the HYMS Library tab (> Images & Videos)on the HYMS VLE (click on the title above to access) using your NHS Athens account. Anatomy.TV gives:

"access to the ultimate online 3D anatomy teaching resources, reference and revision aid for students".

JBM main stairs and lift reopen

The main staircase and lift of the JB Morrell Library at York are now open again giving access to the medical collection on the 1st floor (Y) and the refurbished 2nd floor. The 3rd floor is still closed for refurbishment.
