We all know that the Brynmor Jones is a stunner and now RIBA have rubber stamped that with three awards; basically that means if Kevin McCloud spent his time making shows about libraries the BJL would be on the title screen. But we don't need television to make that happen, we have it for real! We couldn't agree with RIBA more, and we could go on writing and writing, but just look ...

Trial of New Resource at UoY - Tell Us What You Think!
The University of York currently has a trial set up for a new database: Global Health, which covers "all aspects of public health at both international and community level along with related fields in the biomedical and life sciences". The trial is running until Sunday May 15.
Although Global Health is public health focussed HYMS staff and students may well find it useful. If you do decide to have a play we'd be interested to hear whether this resource is useful and what you think of it's functionality and searchability. You can do this by dropping us an email: library@hyms.ac.uk
Note also that CABI (the publisher) say that will be launching a platform upgrade in the summer which will “bring a whole host of new platform features that include visualization tools, improved search capability and a project workspace to improve systematic and literature review”.

Systematic Reviews on the Move
These days we expect responsive design in all the websites we visit. Most of us use our phone or tablet to access the internet just as much, if not more than, we use a desktop or laptop. So why shouldn't we be able to access information on the devices we are using? Cochrane are the latest good eggs to provide a host of features such as clean and responsive design, social media integration and a whole feast of lovely stuff in the picture to your right. Why not have a play yourself and view the Cochrane Library
