As of 28 October 2013, students and staff at York Hospital are enjoying faster access to the Internet.
The HYMS IT team working in partnership with the York Hospital Trust IT and colleagues from University of York IT Services have completed a substantial upgrade to the network bandwidth between HYMS and York Hospital, from 10Mbps to 1Gbps. This will give much faster login times at PCs, access to files, blackboard, email and other web-based resources.
This is part of a programme of connectivity and infrastructure upgrades to all our trust-based study facilities to give an 'on-campus' IT experience for our hospital-based students. This programme includes plans for video-conferencing and wireless developments across the HYMS patch.
