More NEW study space at the Brynmor Jones Library in Hull

The roll out of the Brynmor Jones Library redevelopment is picking up pace. This afternoon (c.2pm) we should see the opening of the newly refurbished 4th floor (Anthropology, Geography, History and Politics). This, and the recently opened 3rd floor (Medicine, Science, Engineering and Technology)  will have informal seating and individual desks for quiet study.  There will also be bookable group study rooms for students on both floors.  In all there are 190 reader spaces on each floor, 47 of which have PCs.  As in the Reading Room, there are printing, photocopying and scanning facilities, self-service book issue machines, quick information terminals and a recycling point.  The new, improved wireless network will also be available.

The refurbishment project as a whole is still on schedule to complete by July next year.
