What’s
going on?

LLI staff have commenced the book moves
which will enable the work to start on creating the new service risers on the
floors in the tower. The risers will contain the infrastructure for the
new heating and ventilation systems and also the enhanced wiring for power and
network upgrade.

Some shelving will be dismantled
and removed from the areas in front of the lifts and on the east and west side
of the tower to allow for the contractors, BAM, to start breaking through to
build the risers.
·
Work is continuing on the temporary book
decant area on the ground floor of the south wing
·
Some stock has already been relocated as
shown below – Library staff will be pleased to assist users to find what they
need :
