Brynmor Jones Library redevelopment update
What’s going on?
· The 5th floor is due to open next week. The books for that floor have now been moved from ground floor decant. Library staff will continue to assist users to locate items and also offer a retrieval service until the 5th floor opens next week.
· All books have been moved from the decant area to the redeveloped floors in the tower. This means that the decant area, which has played such a vital part in the successful management of all the book moves over the past twelve months, is no longer needed. It will therefore be closing next week to allow work to start on the development of the gallery and exhibition spaces.
· As a result of the closure of the decant area, the principal route to the Reading Room and the 2nd floor east between 09.00 and 18.00 will be through the entrance on the south side of the building, facing Larkin West. After 18.00 the only access to these areas will be via the lift adjacent to the reception desk at the front of the Library.
· The new access arrangements are expected to start on Monday, any change to this will be announced
· The 2nd floor is on schedule and is expected to open, including the postgraduate research lounge, in early April.
When’s it happening?
· The 5th floor will open next week

Love eBooks and a member of the BMA?
We've just introduced the option to search for BMA eBook titles as part of our eBook cross-search facility at:
http://libguides.hull.ac.uk/medicine/FindBooks.
This follows student suggestions (keep them coming!) made to HYMS Library during 2013.
And remember too, for general advice on using eBooks you could do worse than look at the Information for using eBooks and other digital documents links on our Find Books page as well.

'MoreBooks' initiative at UoY
MoreBooks in February
For further information see: http://www.york.ac.uk/library/borrowing/morebooks/. If you have any questions, please contact lib-orders@york.ac.uk.
Throughout February the Library at The University of York will again be running its MoreBooks scheme, encouraging students to request we buy titles the Library doesn't have and more copies of the books they need.
A MoreBooks button (above) will appear alongside book titles in YorSearch and all users need to do is click it and enter their details in the form. To suggest an item we don’t currently have, go to the New titles through MoreBooks form. The Library will then purchase a copy of the book you want. As before, we’ll try to buy e-books wherever possible to improve availability.
Last year we purchased over 1,800 books through the scheme, so don't miss your chance to tell us what to buy.
For further information see: http://www.york.ac.uk/library/borrowing/morebooks/. If you have any questions, please contact lib-orders@york.ac.uk.
